Prime Minister meets with the Prime Minister of Australia at the 3rd India-Australia Annual Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the 3rd India‑Australia Annual Summit in Melbourne on 9 July 2026. The leaders reviewed six years of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, pledged to finalise a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, and signed MoUs covering maritime security, civil nuclear energy, skill development, emerging technologies, science & technology, defence, energy security, education, cultural property repatriation, solar energy and traditional knowledge. They highlighted expanding trade, investment, education ties, the role of the Indian diaspora, return of Australian‑held cultural artefacts, and reaffirmed commitment to a free, open Indo‑Pacific region.
