Prime Minister addresses the Indian Diaspora in Australia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large gathering of the Indian diaspora in Australia at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also present. He praised the diaspora as a living bridge between India and Australia, highlighted education ties—including a sizable Indian student community and Australian universities opening campuses in India—and underscored India’s rapid progress in high‑growth economics, policy reforms, digital transformation, communication technology, semiconductors, smartphone manufacturing and ‘Make in India’ defence exports. Modi called on the diaspora to contribute ideas toward building a Viksit Bharat by 2047. The event reflects deep people‑to‑people links in the India‑Australia relationship, which has about one million people of Indian origin.
